Which diplomas can be verified?

Accepted Answer

All Dutch diplomas registered with DUO can be verified: VMBO, HAVO, VWO, MBO (all levels), HBO (Bachelor and Master) and WO (Bachelor, Master and PhD). Some recognized foreign diplomas that have been evaluated in the Netherlands can also be included.

Why is diploma verification via DUO better than a copy?

A diploma copy can be forged - there are even websites that sell fake diplomas. By directly consulting the DUO register, you know for certain that the information is authentic. This is the gold standard for diploma verification in the Netherlands.

How long are diplomas registered with DUO?

DUO registers all diplomas obtained from 1996 for HBO and WO, and from 2007 for MBO. Older diplomas are not always in the register. For these cases, Otentica offers alternative verification options.
